Johnson has Carnegie jaded

Jade Johnson snared 3/7 to skittle Carnegie in Division 1

Despite the terrible weather Melbourne experienced in the lead up to the weekend, the CSB Women's Competition was one of just a few to get a full round of matches in.


In Division 1, an inspired spell of bowling from Jade Johnson helped Parkdale dismiss Carnegie for  just 75. Carnegie skipper Penny Callaghan was the best of the batters with 19. In reply, Parkdale cruised to victory with a few overs to spare, Sascha Pribil with 19* was the lead run-scorer. 


Omega posted a formidable 5/128 from their 20 overs with Rhiannin Bretherton (20*), Ellie Hearne (25*), Jordon Cooper (22*) & Kailey Rotheram (19*) all reaching their retirement. Cindy Asselman (2/25) & Leanne Fletcher (2/12) were the pick of the City bowlers. In reply, Richmond were dismissed for 68 with Laura Castleden 31* the main contributor, whilst Cooper capped off a great day with 3/3.


In Division 2, Bentleigh dismissed Cluden for 63 as Marina Jansz 3/12 grabbed her first wickets for the season. Bentleigh reach the target with plenty of overs to spare. Aspendale were bundled out for 43 by East Malvern-Tooronga as Claire Arbuthnot (3/8) ran riot with the ball. East Malvern Tooronga completed the victory with all wicket still in hand.
